Happy April Fools Day!

I can't believe that it is already April! Time flies whether you are having fun or not. We have had an eventfull month with lots of b-days, cold weather and ASH. Our lovely local volcano has kept us on our toes and greatfully has passed over us for the most part (so far)........ I hear that she is not done with us yet. What a bad joke for her to rain on us today. I officialy have two teenagers in my house now. They have already put in their reasons for staying up later and staying out with friends longer. Ofcourse Jamie wants in on all of that. It's NOT fair she says. Oh well. she will get over it. Happy April Fools Day everyone. Keep the jokes and pranks nice.

I just wanted to say thank you to those of you who take such good care of my Mom! It warms my heart to know that even though my Mom is so far away, there are people accross the world that love her and take wonderful care of her. The cake and candle on the doorstep made me cry. Something so very simple and yet such a huge gesture. I love you Mom and Dad!!!!!

Happy Birth Day Josh!!!

I just have a few min. because I have been doing other things today .....like my job :-) So I just wanted to quickly say Happy Birthday to my only son, who I love dearly!!! He is a great kid and the only one willing to help me out around the house. Thanks for being such a great guy to your Mom!!!

Hello All

I sort of needed to walk away from this thing for a few days. I find that trying to make this blog cool, is frustrating. Since I have yet to figure out how to link friends and family blogs together, maybe someone could attache me to them instead.
Anyways........ My oldest turned 15 on Tuesday. She really wants me to feel old and afraid. It's kind of funny but I don't. I thank the Lord and my parents for such good jeans! (even if they are getting a little tight) Ok, so maybe I am a little afraid. Good job Tyler for giving me so many reasons:-) Last night she made me very proud though. Jamie insisted on the Rondy carnival. Who cares that it was freezing! Josh usually rides the scary rides with Jamie. He wanted to stay home so that I would have more money for his birthday next Friday. (so thought full!) Tyler was awesome enough to go with us and ride on rides that she normally would Not get on. I don't ride the rides! Ok, I will ride the Ferris wheel and the scrambler but that's it! I am not a strong fan of nausea. Too bad for Jamie the carnival shut down an hour early and now she feels that she got ripped off. Oh well, I tried. I would rather have done anything else but that. Josh is turning 14 on the 13th. He wants a phone. I think the go phone is the only thing I can swing. Tyler's phone is a lifeline and only costs me $12 a month. Too bad I can only have one of those.
I found out today that my store is going to stay open. We have been outselling the Diamond store consistently since we opened this location downtown for the holidays. I am grateful to at least have a job. Several people a day come in looking for work. It is hard to see so many people without a job.
My bluegrass season starts soon. Trapper Creek is on the 24th of May. Granite Creek is on the 26th of June. Kenny Lake will be some time in mid July and Anderson is the last weekend of July.
I CAN"T WAIT!!!!! Trace and I are trying to think up a name for our business. (Ken Terry, Kari Trace) get it? Ideas? I was thinking KT Stage Works.?. Don't know.
Well I suppose I should get to work or at least act like it:-)

Transmission anyone?

OK, so I was told that my car was fixed after having broke down in the valley on Saturday. The kids stayed at their dads an extra day because the van I borrowed had no seats and was not so safe. After getting off work, Patrick and I drove out to get the car and then the kids. We made it about two miles before the car started to overheat again. The hose that had come off before was fine so what the heck? The radiator was empty so we filled it up, grabbed the kids and hit the road with our fingers crossed. We made it about 25 miles before overheating again. For those of you who don't know this stretch of road, it is dark, unlit, and scarry when you can't see the road. Now add snow. I am so greatful Patrick was with me to handle the situation. We were driving on the shoulder of the freeway with the flashers on, going about 5 miles an hour to get to the next exit. That's when we realized the head gasket was blown! Oil in antifreeze is NOT a good thing! Well we filled it back up and made it home. I promptly took that Piece Of Crap directly to Dave's shop and parked it right in his way. Can't avoid what is right in front of you. I am now back to my beloved explorer which I have missed so much. Unfortunatly, the tranni is on its way out in it. How long it will last, I don't know. It's the whole reason I bought the POC in the first place. At least we all made it home in one piece, even if it took 3 hours to go 40 miles!

Thank you Julia for giving me some tips on how to make this blog much cooler than it already is :-) Hopefully by the end of the week, I will have a better idea of what I am doing. Julia is right. This is fun and I am probably going to this more for myself than for you. Sorry. Anyone else (Tessa) who may want to help me out with the how to's is more than welcome to share. Hope everyone had a great Valentines Day! Mine started out bad. My car broke down 40 miles from home. That was fun. Then had to leave my car and drive the sound truck back to Anchorage. I am greatful that it was there for me to use but what a white knuckle ride! I am happy to report however that my evening went much better. Patrick took me to a really nice sushi resturant. The white tuna was like dessert it was so good. The kids spent the weekend at their dad's house. I hear Tyler had a rough time, she needs to learn to conform and cooperate. Oh well.......teenagers. Some day she will appreciaate us. Josh had a great time with his cousin Christopher, who just turned 12. They have become great friends! Princess Jamie is doing good. She loves spending time with Megan and Alana. It is nice to have cousins that are close both in their relationships and in proximity.
